BARC INCUBATED
BARC-INCUBATED
iDetect is India's first single-shot dual-energy flat-panel detector — separating bone from soft tissue in a single frame, engineered from first principles in an Indian lab.
Every year, millions of patients face a quiet trade-off between a clearer diagnosis and a higher dose of radiation.
Chest X-rays taken each year — each one a decision about how much radiation is acceptable for a clear answer.
The radiation dose a patient carries when doctors need to see both bone and soft tissue, taken today as two separate scans.
Of dual-energy detectors in Indian hospitals today are imported — adding cost and lead time between a patient and a diagnosis.
iDetect exists to remove that trade-off — one exposure, complete information.
Technology
One exposure, two energy channels
A specially engineered detector captures both high- and low-energy X-ray information in a single exposure, eliminating the need for two separate scans or two doses of radiation.
Bone from soft tissue, instantly
Proprietary onboard processing distinguishes bone density from soft tissue in real time, right at the point of capture.
Standard output, zero disruption
Standard DICOM output means no special viewer or workflow change for the radiologist — it fits into existing hospital systems.

Product
iDetect is designed as a drop-in upgrade: DICOM 3.0 compatible out of the box, requiring no changes to existing X-ray generators or gantries. The device is being built toward the CDSCO Class C medical device pathway with a 2028 public launch target. Production-intent prototyping is active at BARC.
Making of iDetect
Most companies polish this part away. We're showing it while it's still happening.
The founding team came together to take on the problem.
Extensive simulation work converged on a configuration worth building — the design we'd carry into physical testing.
We gained access to BARC's testing facility and characterization lab, and started asking the core question: could a single exposure reliably separate two energy signals?
The venture became a formal company, ready to build toward a product.
